
Dr. Gayle Ramirez
Associate Department Head of Teacher Education
Dr. Ramirez serves as the Associate Department Head for the Department of Teacher Education and the Program Coordinator for the Elementary Education Program. She also co-directs the Ireland Study Abroad program in partnership with Southeast Technological University in Waterford, Ireland, and mentors future teacher leaders through the Sullivan Scholarship Program. In each of these roles, she emphasizes collaboration, mentorship, and relational leadership as central to preparing teacher candidates for meaningful and impactful careers.
Dr. Ramirez’s scholarly inquiry centers on teacher education with a focus on inquiry-based and culturally responsive practices. Her research examines the intersections of relational leadership, relational pedagogy, and equity in teacher preparation, highlighting how strong relationships between candidates, faculty, schools, and communities shape effective teaching and learning. This work contributes to the advancement of science education, teacher leadership, and inclusive practices that ensure success for all learners, regardless of background, differences, or need.
She earned her Ed.D. in Educational Leadership from 麻豆社, where her dissertation explored elementary teachers’ perceptions of non-traditional classrooms. She also holds a Master of Education in Early Childhood Education and a Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education. Across her career as an elementary classroom teacher, teacher educator, and academic leader, Dr. Ramirez has remained deeply committed to integrating theory and practice. Her work continues to prepare teachers who approach science and education with curiosity, care, and a strong commitment to equity and advocacy for all learners.
